My Approach
I believe we are created to be in relationship, and that we learn who we are through relationship. Sometimes when our relationships are characterized by disconnection, whether it’s through experiences of abuse or neglect, or through just not feeling like we can authentically be ourselves with the ones we love, we can come to believe there is something deeply wrong with us. On the flip side, when we experience relationships that are characterized by mutual empathy, authenticity and empowerment, we can discover who we really are and learn the goodness that already exists within. I seek to provide my clients with an authentic and attuned relational experience so that they can increase their own awareness, self-compassion, and skill in self-expression and regulation. I utilize largely experiential techniques in my work with clients, meaning that we won’t just rely on talking or analyzing, but also experiencing and learning to be with emotions and experiences as they come up in therapy.
I view our relationship itself as a primary setting in which deeper self-exploration and understanding can take place. Safety and trust in our relationship are therefore key, and much of the process particularly at the beginning entails creating and cultivating this space of safety and trust. As we co-create this therapeutic relationship together, my hope is that my clients feel comfortable sharing when things don’t quite fit, aren’t quite working, or if I’ve missed the mark in some way.
I strive to offer a space that is inclusive and welcoming to folks of all backgrounds, gender identities and sexual orientations. I have experience working with children, teens, adults and couples. At this time I am only offering individual therapy for adults.

Consultation call
I offer 15-minute consultation calls for free in order for both of us to ask any questions that might help clarify if I’m the right fit for you. If at the end of this call it is determined that we are not a good fit for each other after all, I always offer information about other services that I think might be more appropriate for you.
